I know eventually ill need to upgrade to a hydra 26 or equivalent for big boy corals, but is a single AI prime enough on a Lagoon 25 to keep softies?

You will experience shadowing but yes, one Prime should be sufficient for soft corals. I would recommend two Primes over one Hydra to widen the coverage and eliminate shadowing.

Actually just found a par chart for the tank with the single puck.. thanks

Prime will be fine. Just keep adding more and more as you go instead to getting something new. 1 had 1 on a biocube a long time ago then added another for a reefer 170 and a third when I got A reefer 250. And I can grow any big boy corals with them. By having two pucks spaced out more than what you get on a hydra 26/32 you will have way less shadowing.

Where did you find the chart? I'm having trouble finding the right settings for my single puck set up as well
