I'm looking for some threaded rod for a DIY project. And I'm having a big problem finding rod of the length I need at least two pieces of 4.5 in. I've tried looking for plastic threaded rod nylon threaded rod etc but what I find the shipping is astronomical. I found this on Amazon but not sure if it's reef safe.

it is basically Delrin. formaldehyde is part of the production process (think highschool biology dissection frogs and things preserved in jars)

limited FDA approval, so may not be safe, but alota thumb screws on skimmers and such are delrin...

It's FDA approved meaning food safe, so it's probably ok in a reef tank.

Edit: Amozon doesn't say if it is copolymer or homopolymer.
copolymer is the one to look for. Homopolymer is made with formaldehyde.

Acetal copolymer overcomes the common problem of centerline porosity in large shapes of Acetal Homopolymer (aka Delrin)
• Acetal Copolymer is preferred to Delrin (DuPont brand Acetal Homopolymer) where centerline porosity
is a concern.
• Acetal copolymer is produced under several brand names including Celcon, Ultraform & Acetron.
