Is anybody here using the Triton Method?

@MrMichael
Can you explain the regular Triton vs "The Others" Triton to @powers2001 and their pros and cons?

The simple answer is that they are the same except the regular has a bit more of the PRO-ALGAE ingredients, while other-methods has a bit less of the Algae-Increasing ingredients. The reason being that standard Triton relies are a good size fuge to export nutrients and you need to feed that fuge. With other methods, it's doesn't turbo-charge the fuge as much and you should probably rely on a mix of water changes/chaeto removal/other methods to export nutrients.

If you are going to commit to a 4 head doser, then I think Triton is fine for anyone. The Triton Support forum here on R2R is active and Triton is the new hot thing. My personal recommendation for brand new tanks starting from dry rock + frags, is to stick with the Other Methods formula until you tank matures similar to the reasons listed in the video below.

It has been a easy transition and my tank has continued to do well. I sent my test in, performed the 6 20% weekly water changes and committed to a Refugium. The cheato, and culepera are doing well and growing. I have had to add core7 full method every other day or so due to a lower pH. As the coral growth and algae continue to grow I expect to see increased consumption of the core7 elements.

I don't want to step on any toes, but by "other methods" do you mean similar product lines that are along the same lines as Triton? ATI has a simpler approach with additional features and benefits not available from Triton.

@Rakie
Are you still loving the ATI?

Thanks, Freddie

Yes I'm doing the ATI essentials. I really like it, and even if I stop their no WC thing, I'll continue to use the system itself as the corals have responded very well.

I'm currently weaning my tank off of water changes, and doing a WC every month or so. No ill effects whatsoever.

Some people think ATI Essentials is a little time consuming to use, but I'm here to tell you it can be done in the following easy steps;
1. Dose it

So once you master the list of steps in the product, it's pretty rewarding.
