As the title says, is anybody growing their Nannochloropsis cultures outside in natural sunlight?
I’ve read a few posts about people doing this, as well as some large scale farmers growing Phyto in large outdoor raceways. Apparently Nanno. can survive temps dropping to around freezing as long the water isn’t freezing over and they are still receiving sun light.
Most interesting, I’ve read that these outdoor cultures seem to be very resistant to contamination and crashing. (I’ve been having trouble with my indoor cultures crashing)
Does anybody have experience with this?
Im considering growing a few jugs of Nanno in a garage window with just an aerator. Might add a small heater too.
