Is Aptasia X harmful to acros?

I have an aptasia that is pretty close to an acro frag, I want to zap it but don't want to harm the frag

Yes! Very harmful to everything honestly....I can’t remember but I believe it’s just sodium hydroxide...

Just crack off the frag, nuke the sucker, and then re glue the frag.

In all honesty, I personally wouldn’t bother the Aip. You’re just asking it to spread. I’ve never had good luck with aipX or similar. It kills the one but then they’re everywhere in a few months.

If you insist on using aipX while not moving your frag, turn OFF ALL FLOW in your tank. Wait a bit for things to calm down. Then take a long tip needle and make sure you very carefully get it in the mouth of the aip without the aip knowing you’re there. Completely fill and cover the aip with the X.

In my opinion, Bio controls are your best bet. You can try a handful of peppermint shrimp

Or get some aiptasia eating Berghia nudibranchs from @Reeftown tho I’ll tell you, they generally do best with an infestation as the pack quickly will eat up their entire food source if you don’t have a huge tank infested with Aip.

Well I had 4 a month or so ago & now I have 11. I added 2 pep shrimp, but haven't seen them eat anything yet (they worked in the past).

I nuked all 11 yesterday & will nuke them if/when the come back. I got the one next to my acro frag, guess I'll relo it. I also had 1 close to some zoas, figured they'd be hurt as well.

I use AquarScape Fix by Fauna Marin a plastic pellet that melts in hot water. I heat it up and cover the aptasia with the plastic and it seals it away killing it
