Is Bayer dip still available?

I think the end result of these products is to kill insects- that being said whether or not we choose to use them is on you- like I said it works, and who knows what they did as far as renaming the bottle, or changing a few ingredients around, the solution was literally the same milky substance as advanced, and other than not rinsing enough, I had no issues- to each their own, but I wouldn’t be alarmed-

If it says it kills mosquitoes than there was probably an ingredient change.

Think about this. IF the old formula killed mosquioes why wouldn't bayer advertise that? They left it off the label for a reason, mainly because the formula is imidacloprid based, and imidacloprid does not kill mosquitoes.

Even on lowes website, it is NOT recommended for mosquitoes.

From my knowledge most mosquito killers are either pyrethrin or permethrin based.

Keep in mind you MUST rinse rinse rinse! I thought I did a good enough job, all my shrimp, few crabs, sand shifting gobbie, all copepods paid the ultimate sacrifice - stuff is super toxic, yet so effective-

Check the ingredients for pyrethrin or permethrin!!

I know that permethrin can kill animals, specifically cats. If someone puts just a couple drops of a permethrin based product on a cat, you won't have time to get to a vet before it is dead. Just an fyi on how fast this stuff can kill if not used properly.

I would imagine it would be even worse in a tank. And it could affect some fish and not others. Permethrin is perfectly safe for dogs and horses, but deadly to cats. I amagine some fish might be affected and others would be ok.

I might have to go out and see if my Lowe’s has the Bayer advanced. Even when it was called Bayer there were different versions so this may not be the advanced formula

Luckily I have an almost full bottle but I’m hoping to use a lot up now that I have upgraded my tank [emoji12]

I used to do 10ml per 1/2 cup water but just upped it to 15ml per 1/2 cup with a 10 min dip. My latest corals have seen no issues from this (Monti’s and Acro’s)

Yes they sold out and changed the branding to bioadvanced. My lowes still carries it.

Looks like they got rid of the imidacloprid and tripled the upped the cyfluthrin by more than double

Below is a pick of the Bayer label I got from today

Looks like the imidacloprid is still there. Do you mean it’s just a lesser amount?

No. That pick is of a Bayer labelled bottle. It had been rebranded as "bioadvanced" and removed the imidacloprid.

I suspect the imidacloprid is the molecule that is responsible for the "dip effect" See if your local garden store has anything that is just imidacloprid - some states have banned it however!

Do not dip corals in pyrethroids if you plan to keep them with fish!

Interesting, I just bought a bottle of Bayer at Lowe’s today in the Seattle area.

Can confirm California Lowe’s have cut over to “Bioadvanced” branding. It’s likely just remarketing to disassociate from the Bayer name. However, it does still contain imidacloprid.

You can get 21% concentrates of imidacloprid. Never used them.

Lowes and amazon still have it
