I have a 36 gallon and want to go bigger but I need make my wife to buy into going bigger I told her I read it is easier to have a bigger is that ture

Yes yes yes, I had a 29 for a year and talked my wife into setting up a 125. Honestly it is easier in the long run, less swing in water parameters. Set up a good functioning sump a simple light schedule and a fresh water top off and you will be all set. I work 60+ hrs a week and only do a max of 3 hrs a week of total tank maintenance.

I think that between 30 to 65 gals really is the easiest for a new SW keeper. It's small enough to keep the costs resonable....and large enough that swings wont happen as fast as they do in smaller tanks.

BUT I get having your heart set on things...
How about letting her pick out a fish..it will be Her fish... chances are it need a larger tank then the 36 gals cause a lot of them do.
(cough) arnt dwarf angles adorable! Need at least a 55 http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/aquarium-fish-supplies.cfm?c=15+16
Or a tang...70 gals is the least for them http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/aquarium-fish-supplies.cfm?c=15+43

ps. if she picks out a fish that needs like 200 gals dont blame me :p

Bigger is almost always better but once you get into large tanks of 200+ gallons they come with a new set of challenges that don't necessarily make them easier. Just more stable due to water volume. They're a ton more expensive to set up, stock, and maintain. And big problems are bit headaches. An aiptasia infestation or a leak on a 220 gallon tank are ALOT more troublesome to deal with than the same problems on a 36 gallon bio cube
