I recently created a monster...

It's a PhosBan 550 reactor with chaeto in side, and wrapped with a stand of RGB LED lights. It's plumbed and hanging on the back of my 28 gallon nano. Since I can make the color of the light ANY color I like, is one better than the other in terms of maximizing chaeto's efficiency?

Thanks for help in advance!

Mike

well, it doesn't use green.
ist it rgb or rgbw

I believe red would be the best. Let us know how it works out. I'm liking it!

RGBW, I can use any color, any combination or Red, Green, Blue, White.

BR & w as w is likely 5.5 -28k
the w will have the ROY you need.

Wanna guess why g is useless?

Cause the chaeto will just reflect it, as it is green?
BINGO!!
It reflects the light it doesnt use.
that's why grass is green. the sky is blue the sun is orange and red(and other cool stuff) so plants suck it up.
so if you come across folks who say they want to turn down the green or change $300 in tubes in their lights twice a year to stop algae growth, you can snicker politely to yourself like I do.

so @saltyfilmfolks in your opinion just full on red, blue, white will work the best?
yup. thats the best spectrum you can run the green if it looks cooler. its only going to use the B R and whatever is in the W, but the B&R added will help the intensity.
Keep an eye on the plant, possible but not likely to over do it.

And Yea thats a really cool looking rig.
