I have been using it for awhile but always curious what’s made out of and is it toxic.

I usually dip the corals for 5-10 mins, rinse them with tank water then into the tank.

there’s always that feeling it carries a bit of the coral rx into the tank, is it toxic or bad?

if so I need to run some carbon or polyfilter.

note: this is not an emergency but I can’t seem to find the right place to post this, apologize in advance.

I’m not sure of the complete composition, but one thing it sure has is Tea Tree oil - it’s natural and used a lot in beauty care.

The active ingredient of CoralRx is lavender oil from the plant species Lavandula hybrid, which is toxic (see: https://www.baua.de/DE/Biozid-Melde...tails_node.html?idUser=258610&idProdukt=86290). Lavender oil is a mixture of >100 compounds, mostly terpenes (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavender_oil).

Here's some nice information: https://www.newdirectionsaromatics....de-to-buying-your-lavender-essential-oil.html

You can buy it here: https://www.bulkapothecary.com/lava...sMEhB3EZyPr74gEYUyQ4weWLI9h_rjABoC-2YQAvD_BwE

CoralRx regular solution is about 2.5% lavender oil. An 8 oz bottle thus contains 0.2 oz of oil. You can purchase pure oil, 16 oz, for $50. A 30-fold markup.

Agree on the markup but my question is a small amount of coralrx toxic?

As long as you are using it according to the guidelines I see no issues and use it myself. I also doubt it would come as highly recommended as it is.
But as with anything, if there is too much of it there could be issues.
