I just started dosing esv bionic 2part my alkalinity drops .4 dkh a day so I’m dosing 12 ml a day part 1 (1ml every 2 hours). The calcium was always 550 every time I tested, now that I started dosing being instructions say it’s 1.1 dosing I’m also dosing 12ml of part 2 1ml every 2 hours just tested calcium and it dropped down to 350 from 550 testing both with Hanna.

Probably precipitated. If my calcium was 550 I wouldn't be dosing any till I saw what raising the alk did. It's better if you report the 3 current values ( calcium, alkalinity, magnesium) for people to properly help you.

Dosing raises levels based on coral consumption

How long of a time period are we talking about for the calcium drop? IMO, if this is less than a couple of weeks, it is test error.

Precipitation of calcium carbonate cannot explain a 200 ppm calcium drop without a massive alkalinity overdose, because it would necessarily remove 28 dKH from the water, which is not there to begin with.

That drop was a week. Just tested again and alkalinity is 9.7dkh, calcium is 430, magnesium is above 1500 salifert test kit, water stayed the same color.

Yeah I’m happy with those numbers. I was just worried about that much of a drop. Thanks for the help everyone!!
