Is flashing always bad? Need help ASAP

Whatever you do for the Yellow, do for the Kole, as they have been in the same tank (and presumably will be in the future).

Well, they're both in the QT with the Prazipro added. The Kole is hiding because I was trying to net the yellow and he was difficult to catch, scaring the little Kole (he's much smaller), then I tried to net him after the yellow was done and he went and hid behind the filter. He wasn't flashing or showing any signs of issues...although, I know he very likely has flukes too. I wanted to freshwater dip him, but I think he'll be fine with just the treatment. Hopefully they don't have any other issues on top of the Flukes. I plan on keeping them in quarantine for longer than suggested, just to be absolutely sure they're good before making the move. They are both going into the same DT.

Another question: The yellow tang hasn't done any flashing since I dipped and treated, but he is still sometimes do that weird little shake (see 1st video), is this the flukes? or something else?

Also, just so I'm prepared:
Friday is day 5 since the FW dip and treating with Prazipro, do I do a water change and treat again? If so, how much water? I have enough for half right now.

-When do i stop treating and what do I do at that point?

Thanks everyone for your replies!!

[QUOTE=". What is "CP"? How do I treat Flukes if that's the case? This is all new to me :)

CP is Chloroquine Phosphate much better to use since it’s softer on the fish than copper. Just as effective when treating Ich or velvet as copper. Does not treat flukes. Look into API general cure for flukes. It’s the same ingredient as Prazipro but in powdered form. Also the dose is a little more accurate with less chance of overdosing.[/QUOTE]

Where do I buy this? I can't find it anywhere online. Thanks!

I hope this is helpful until you can get some more precise advice.

Prazipro causes the flukes to spasm, and that is likely why you see the Tang shaking.

Thank you! I guess that head shake is related, it reminds me of a dog shaking off water! He started doing this before treatment. I'm watching him and every once in a while he flies across the tank and stops fast facing the side, shake, flairs up his fins and take off again, then he's normal for a while.

Is the API General cure different than Prazipro? I liked the idea of keeping Chloroquine Phosphate on hand just in case. I do have Cupramine just in case too. Now that I have experienced my first fish disease, I've realized I'm unprepared! I was lucky that my husband had some Prazipro in his arsenal of fish products...never even thought to look there.

The way I understand it General cure is the same ingredients as prazipro. However was recommended because it's easier to dose accurately.

Since you already have prazipro, I would probably stick with it and just be careful to follow directions for dosing.

Ok sounds good. It's 1 tsp per 20g and my tank is 20g, so it was easy to dose :) I just want to make sure I do the right amount of water change before dosing the 2nd time.

And this might be a stupid questions...but do I need to worry about these things when I'm doing this water change...like draining the water into the bathroom sink, cat bowls nearby ..myself..etc. :)
.....hazmat suit needed? lol ;Doctor:)

lol

CP treats ich/velvet like copper, it also treats for Brook and uronema. Be careful buying online, unless you buy from diamondback using a vet acquired RX for the med. The problem with eBay CP and other online vendors that will sell it to you without a prescription is the purity level is unknown. Since there isn't an easy way to test the level this becomes an issue (maintaining the therapeutic dosage) not knowing the purity.

General cure contains praziquantel + metronidazole. So it's similar to using Prazipro + Metroplex combined. GC does contain a slightly lower dosage or praziquantel than Prazipro but it usually will still get the job done.

Hope this helps.

Another picture, is this anything? I again checked photos from when I first go this fish and this was there. Is that circle/spot in front of his eye something normal?

He's doing great, no flashing, no more shaking. Still a little freaked out if I'm too close to the tank. Later today I'm going to FW did both Tangs, do a water change and retreat with prazipro.

Very happy that he is doing better. That appears to be his nostril.

So, I did the freshwater dip on both Tangs on Saturday 11-10. I didn't see anything from the little one, the bigger one seemed to be all clear too, maybe just 1 little white thing..but there was also a little bit of sand that got in the container so I'm not even sure that was anything. I did the water change, retreated with prazipro, it's been 6 days, both fish have been fine. I only saw the big one shake once and that was a couple days after the 2nd treatment. No flashing, no more shaking etc. They're both eating fine, grazing on everything.
BUT the 2 spots on the little one's dorsal fin and the 1 little spot on the big one's tail fin, are still there, still exactly the same, no changes, no spreading nothing. They don't match any of the fish illnesses that I've read about, these fish appear perfectly normal otherwise.

Questions, What do I do about these spots? I don't want to treat unnecessarily.
Do I need to do a large water change and use carbon? to remove the prazipro? and if so, how much and why? What would happen if I just left it for a longer?
I'm waiting for 2 new heaters to heat the water for a water change, temps dropped, my RODI water is in the garage, I bring the mixed containers inside but they only get to 70 to 72 degrees, which is the temp in my house.
