Just finished up the aquascape for my 100gal build. Hoping to start cycling it today.

So after much research I went with glue masters thin and BRS insta-set and to say they worked well is an understatement. I’ve never seen glue hold like this in my life and i do a lot of DIY. Tidal Gardens made a video on glue masters thin which was the deciding factor.

So my question to y’all. Is there any reason to believe the glue isn’t enough? Is the E-Marco mortar really necessary or is it an overkill?

I used one rod where I thought appropriate but even then I didn’t really need it. Not sure why the video quality is like that. Sorry.

So I’m new to the reefing world but just finished my aqua scape with a similar method. Instead of the insta-set I used crush Marco rock. Similar to the tidal gardens method but substitute sand. The Marco rock powder and superglue creates a chemical reaction (it will burn you so wear gloves). My bonds were stronger than the rock itself. Wanted to redo a couple spots and each time the rock broke before the bond. I got the method from Marine Cost on YouTube. They seem to be the South Korean version of BRS (no English but have subtitles in later videos).

Oh yea you ain’t lying. I wore my normal mechanics gloves and and disposable plastic gloves on top. The bond was so intense you could literally see it smoking and feel the heat coming off of it. Went right through my plastic gloves

Strange of the macro rock causing a chemical reaction. I wonder if other similar dry rock i.e. caribsea south sea has a similar reaction. I though the addition of sand or broken piece was to add little more support plus aesthetic reasons..didn't know it actually caused a chemical bonding function.
