Is googone safe on fish tank

I bought a used 90 gal fish tank, and someone thought using a adhesive to place mirror on the outside of back of the tank. It looks terrible, it would remind you of the way very old mirrors look today. It has places where the mirror has rubbed off or has been scratched off it other places and the adhesive they used has ran and real white in places. My question is what in the world could I use to get this off safely. The tank it a real thick glass it don't seem to have in plastic made into the glass. Would googone be safe to use and would that even work to get the mirror off??? I would be very grateful for any advice you may have that could me..

I would say no. I tend not to use anything along those lines on my tank. I would just use a brand new razor blade to get it off. That should do the trick with very little effort. If it is giving some issues some white vinegar will help dissolve the adhesive a little.

It's on the outside? If so, seems like you could tape some plastic over the top if the tank while you were working on the back and then just clean it off really well.

But that was the only thing I tried because I knew that would be safe to try.

Yes it's on the outside of the tank.

Thank you very much for the welcome and advise. This was the only thing that I did try do and it wouldn't budge it at all. I just don't know what else I could try safely

If it's on the outside then I would squirt goo gone around it. obviously don't get any inside. if you do, wash the entire tank with a water/vinegar mix and you'll be good.

As long as you don't get any inside your tank, I would clean real good with alcohol afterwards, you should be ok.

I just got it set up I haven't even add my Oscar yet I was going to let it filter for about 4 or 5 days before add him. I had to go through about 5 or 6 water/ vinegar baths/ and scrubbing just to get the nasty green blackish slug out of it. I'm scared to mess up all that hard work.
