@Randy Holmes-Farley I read your first article on Iodine. I think I read parts of it in the past but had some more time for a deeper dive today. My take away is that ICP-OES is possibly not going to give accurate results for Iodine is that a valid assumption? I know Triton does ICP-OES and I'm assuming all the other reef branded companies do as well?

If this is true would you trust the Salifert kit over ICP testing (as long as you aren't dosing the organic forms)?

It also makes me wonder are there other elements that ICP-OES would have a tougher time assigning accurate values?

FWIW I don't currently test for or dose Iodine other than what is present in B-Ionic. I do grow turf algae with a green thumb though!

It is a challenging ion to measure, but my tests were many years ago. Equipment is likely much better know and I have confidence in companies like Triton to accurately measure it, or they wouldn’t report it.

Thanks Randy. It was a great article so I do appreciate your time putting it together.
