Had him in there for three days now and still looking like this
Powerheads are off at the moment about to do a %10 water change and rearrange some frags.
Ordered some frags and fish and of course they all came in two days not over a two week period like I had scheduled..... just my luck

Not dead .....this stuff is pretty resilient. Leave it be for a few days and let it settle in.

Make sure it not getting blasted by flow or light and it should pick up.

You’ll know it’s dead if it starts melting away.

If you watch it closely do you see slight movement/pulsing occasionally? As said above, it will be obvious when it's dead. It rots/melts quickly.

Its unhappy. Elevate it to upper half of tank under moderate light and water flow

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I read a paper that says they pulse to increase water flow and make respiration easier. So, like vetteguy said, some flow is good if it's not pulsing much.

They are a weird coral for sure .

It's crazy because I have a cats paw doing just fine and this guy just isn't feeling it.
Probably because the person I bought it from didn't really give a dang. I bought 7 frags from ebay and only two of the seven weren't floating around the cup. Definitely my fault for not looking into the seller

If you were local to me .
I would give you some .
My wife wanted them as and liked the looks and movement .
I tried talking her out of it but it didn’t work .
along with gsp .
Over the years it’s multiplied and died off .
thriving and spreading again .
