My tank is about a month now and still going through the diatom bloom. Not so visible on the rocks anymore but on the sand daily. I skimmed some out since I wanted to reduce my sand bed anyway but it is back daily!
I have an area with zoas in the sand and I decided to just leave the diatoms as not to disturb anything since diatoms are harmless but it looks like its getting darker..Im thinking it is looking reddish! Now I notices and area of my rock where it looks like a dark burgundy! I think I may have cyno now. How do I know for sure and how do I get rid of it?
I'm fine with leaving it alone if its harmless and it goes away.. I never experienced this in my old tank and my diatoms went away in 2 to 3 weeks. This is a bigger tank.. I guess that means bigger problems! Geeze!
