Hi all I have a piece of rock with palythoas on it. It is now just taking up space. Can I just throw it away or do I have to do something with it? Thanks!
 
You used can lay it outside.
It will take a smell for a few days but it will be ok.
If you ever want to use the rock again you have to clean it and cure it first before putting it back into a system.

And yes there can be a risk of having them. so minor and some major.

Disposal methods vary from leaving them outside in a covered bucket of diluted bleach to incinerating to giving them away.
