It hasn't moved. At first I thought is was aphasia and plucked it from the frag branch. Let it sit in the sand and it didn't move, but tendrils started coming out. Set it on the dry rock in the flow. It's been chilling there for 2 days. 4-6mm diameter. It looks like a nudibranch? But - the picture is not 'great' - does it move around, or is it in one spot. Where did you get the frag?
Nudibranchs would move I would thin. it might be a type of anemone, etc. I'm sure others would weigh in - can you get a close-up?It hasn't moved. And yet - people keep claiming diversity, diversity, diversity - but I get your point. When in doubt... yank it out.
You're not wrong. I will acknowledge being narrow minded. I just prefer to go by the mindset that bacterial biodiversity is great... but I like my CUC to be assembled like Seal Team 6. Everybody has a special job and they are selected for that task. Having a rouge Mad Man Murdock running wild with explosives is just begging for a plan to not come together. And yet - people keep claiming diversity, diversity, diversity - but I get your point.
It's only been in the tank 3 days so it may be a sad cowrie.Almost looks like a cowrie but if it's not moving, I wouldn't think so.
Well said! You're not wrong. I will acknowledge being narrow minded. I just prefer to go by the mindset that bacterial biodiversity is great... but I like my CUC to be assembled like Seal Team 6. Is that a green spot on top? Any chance you could get a picture looking down on it?Here's a better shot in daylight. It's got more tentacles out this evening.![]()
A little bigger than a pea. ~5mm diameter.Could be a tunicate or sponge. How big? Maybe a baby urchin, but they move.
And it's squishy.A little bigger than a pea. ~5mm diameter.
Update: looks like it has some filter feeding jobbos...Here's a better shot in daylight. It's got more tentacles out this evening.![]()
Don't know - but if its not moving, its likely to not be 'deadly'. And - it doesn't look like its something 'bad' thats going to take over your tank. BUT - thats always possibleUpdate: looks like it has some filter feeding jobbos...
