Is it fair to say that when most hobbyist are purchasing coral you would like the photo taken under LED's? It seems that LED's have taken over much of the hobby and for that reason I would assume you would like to see what the coral looks like under the same type lighting you have?

Just by a quick glance at most forums more people have LED's than any other type of lighting.

I use t5 not a fan of leds except for the use as moonlights at the end of my light cycle. Just curious are the pics you typically post taken under led and is that what your primary grow lighting is?

All of out photos are taken under 20K radiums and reefbrite leds. I was curious about this since LEDs seem to have taken over the hobby.

Solar, you must be thinking of someone else because my hand isnt in any of my photos.

put your hand under a blue light and your hand is *gasp* - blue! that's how it works, and is a correct white balance. people who white balance their tank with a white card, or use the sand as a white point...it's incorrect unless the tank has a 10k look. that white card isn't white under 20k halides, blue t5s, or blue leds. :)

and yes, gary - i love seeing pics under leds, because i run an led tank. it's still pretty easy to spot over-saturated or incorrectly white-balanced pics, and pics taken under blue-only leds. i'd still prefer to see a full spectrum photo - not just blue leds like i often see on ebay. blend it heavy blue - that's my preferred look, but def keep the full spectrum to some degree.

your photos are awesome either way!

Exactly. Anything above 10K will show blue if it is not white balanced. I use white crate for this reason, to show that its a full spectrum photo, otherwise the white crate would be blue. I cant take photos under blue actinics. I have tried many times and they look horrible! I appreciate the compliment.
