So I have an opportunity to get a 21o gal that is up and running with stand, canopy, lighting and everything thing for $100. It is very good condition. Here is the problem. The tank is infested with majano. What do you guys think I should do?
If I get the tank what would be the best way of ridding the tank of the majano?
Thank you for your help.

Frag all coral and trash all the rock and start over from scratch. You have to break down the tank anyway so there is no point in battling them.

That's a good point. That is probably the best option. But will I see the majano later down the road if the coral was once present with the majano?

Yeah that sounds like a great deal. You could also leave the rocks outside or give them an acid/bleach bath to kill the anemones. However, you would need to quarantine/watch them before putting them back in the main tank.

Ya that's a good idea too then I don't have to buy rock.

This is the tank in the current state.

For $100 why the heck not? I'd agree with frag the corals off the rocks, and kill the rocks. Bleach and clean them and I'd use them again. Keep the corals in some sort of temporary tank. I wouldn't worry about them popping up again because of the corals.

There are a lot of pest corals. I think starting over is gonna be the best idea. But I want to keep some of the corals in there. Will that be a problem later?

I actually like xenia alot. ;)

Those powerheads alone are probably worth 100.00.

Honestly, that tank looks pretty cool as is. I know it is almost entirely pest corals over running everything, but I still think it looks nice. Kinda the cool part of the hobby. Trash easy stuff to grow can still come together and look nice, even if us snobby hobbyists don't like it. I'd just soak in bleach for a day or two, then dry and rinse them off real well.

It does look cool the over all colors are awesome but I don't want it to eventually but only majano and xenia

Unless you completely bleached all the rock and got rid of the corals or kept them in QT to make sure there are no Majano present then personally I would give it a pass. Someone would have to pay me a lot more than 100.00 to deal with that on going head ache. If the tank were clean and empty it would be a different story.

If I bleach the rock how long does it take?

I did 50lbs at a time. Soak for at least a few days in a mild bleach solution. My rock was dry so you may need more bleach or a longer bath than I did. Then I did a 15-30 minute muriatic acid bath followed with a dousing of baking soda to neutralize any remaining acid. This MUST be done outside with proper gear. Figure out which way the wind is blowing and stand upwind. You do not want to breathe the fumes. It's easy to do and safe as long as you follow the safety precautions. If you're the kind of person that says to yourself "how bad can it really be?" then a muriatic acid bath isn't for you. IMO, it was extremely easy and very successful. I'd do it again. But remember, keep kids, pets, or anything else you love or don't want to go to jail for away from it.

So you're saying that even if I frag the coral then do the bleach soak on the rocks for a few days the majano could still be present because it can be on the coral or something? Sorry for the stupid question I just have been fortunate/diligent enough to not have to deal with majano or aptasia.

That’s a terrible deal! Where’s that tank at so I can go talk to them? ;) Lol Go get it before it’s gone. Put the corals you want in a QT clean the tank with vinegar soak the corals in bleach a few days then in freshwater a few days then in Saltwater a few more days then set her up to cycle with all new saltwater.

Let's be honest, the tank and cabinet are worth a lot more than that on their own.

The rock is worth more that that.

The pumps are worth more......... nope, I won't say another word... $100... go for it :)

Mojano will most likely not be on corals, maybe on sps, but you would see a dead spot on it or the nem. When you frag just keep the actual coral only and glue to a plug, don't keep any rock with the clipping and you should be fine.
