Is it normal for a protein skimmer to splash?

And how do I prevent this? It’s getting saltwater on my walls even if adjust it…it still splashes is this normal? Here’s the setup. And it’s an IceCap Neo.

How is it splashing? Show some picks of the back compartment as best as you can.

Must be something in the water chemistry that’s making it overfill and splash all over.

Edit: didn’t know this was a new skimmer, it’ll take some time for it to “break in” so I suggest trying to raise the skimmer up a bit so your collection cup doesn’t get overfilled constantly until it breaks in. Manually adjust the skimmer to do dry skimming which is the lowest amount of bubbles and this should help.

I know it has a break in period too as I just added it yesterday!

You can use some sort of sponge underneath the skimmer to raise it up a little bit. If this is also set in the first chamber it’ll help with keeping debris and uneaten food from entering the skimmer and making it go nuts.

It’s in the second one and I just raised it! It has a little ring it gets adjusted with.
