Hi all,

I have a tessalata eel that is about 2.5ft and is growing well, I was wondering if it would be possible to add a snake eel with it in a 6ft by 2.5ft by 2ft?

NO, snake eel is docile ,will become food for tessie.
Also need sand ,snake will spent most of day in sand.

Ok thanks, is their any other type of eel that could go with a tessalata

Agreed with fish guy. Snake eels can be slow eaters and you are almost guaranteed to have the Tessa try and steal the food and kill the snake eel in the process.

You want an equally sized eel, and the less closely related, the better. Zebra eel would work. I’ve also seen yellow-margined, grey-eyed, or dragons work well.

Either way, you must be careful about the addition and watch for signs of aggression. Overfeed before adding, and if you see signs of chasing, you’ll have to get one out immediately. Eels either get on well, or they don’t. No middle ground. Usually, they do get along, though.
