Depends. Where and what.Is it possible to get a permit to collect fish from the ocean?
It’s illegal here, thats why I asked how or if i can get a permitYou’d have to look at your local laws. Here in Florida we can collect quite a few of our fish off the beach here

We don't know where Here is bud. You're being very vague and making it hard to help. It’s illegal here, thats why I asked how or if i can get a permit![]()

I’m trying to get Tidepool sculpin and many inverts and shore crabs, some kind of anemone, and many different kinds of sea plants.Curious what type of fish you are trying to collect?
Don't know if you've ever tried but the prettier the fish the more nearly impossible it is to catch, even with a 6ft round casting net.
Tropical fish ain't no fools.
Tangs have already hauled butt out the area when the net hits the top of the waterline

Does this mean I can snorkel in 3 feet deep and take snails and crabs and such?Good find. Snorkel time!
As long as it’s lower than the low tide mark yesDoes this mean I can snorkel in 3 feet deep and take snails and crabs and such?
How do I know the low tide mark? And also, I can collect anything under the low tide mark using a net?As long as it’s lower than the low tide mark yes
Check a tide chart and go at low tide. Anything submerged at that time should be good from my understanding however low tide changes daily so I would go another 2-4 ft deep to be safeHow do I know the low tide mark? And also, I can collect anything under the low tide mark using a net?
