Is it possible?

Is it possible to still find S. Gigantea for sale these days? Has the ban on Indo completely stopped the import of these, or do they make it in from elsewhere?

There are Gigantea around. Two of my newest Gigantea were recent imprort. Got one from Petco and another send to me by a friend. Both were sick but well on their way to recover.

That blue/green one looks like it's going to be a stunner when its recovered.

I heard people getting Magnifica and Haddoni from Petco, never knew they got in Gigs. Still so strange to me how a place like Petco carries these yet they are so rare to find at LFS.

They come in as small assorted carpets. They, the Corpus Christi store, cannot order Gigantea or Haddoni. Just carpets and color carpets

IIRC Quality Marine supplies Petco. Anything on their site can be ordered by Petco. OrionN is correct, however, that you can't specifically order a S. gigantea:

Also, gigantea are found all over the world, so any ban shouldn't completely prevent their import. I do think that they are seasonal, but it could just be where the collectors are during this time of the year. I see a lot of magnifica coming in right now. Gigs should be more common in a few months.

I was never quite sure of the distribution of S. Gigantea. I remember stopping in Singapore for a few days and seeing TONS of S. Gigantea, also seen a bunch in Indo waters. Those are the only locations I recall seeing wild S. Gigs.

I will have to check my local Petco, I'm not even sure they carry anything SW. I've had my eye out for the last year or so and haven't seen a single Gig in any LFS since Indo ban. Really had me thinking they were gone from the hobby, besides those who had acquired them previous to the ban.
