Hi, I have. 100 gallon glass aquarium that I was planning on building into a refugium for the new tank I’m setting up. Unfortunately last summer we had a lot of flooding in our area. the tank was underneath a window in my basement and flood water came in the window and filled the tank. I’m afraid to use it now for a reef because who knows what kind of junk was in the flood water. Is there any way to clean it so I can be sure it’s safe for my tank? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Ev

It should be fine with just a basic cleaning, but if you want to sterilize it, use household bleach and then rinse thoroughly.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I was kind of nervous about bleach getting absorbed into the silicone seals of the tank. Is that something I need to worry about?
