I was thinking the other day about this. We really need to get someone going on making a comprehensive book on the topic of Zoanthids and there close kin. There is so much mis info out there on names, feeding, lighting, husbandry, etc. I know no one guide would nail it all, but the resulting fighting would lead to volume three or four that could be of great value.

Regardless of where you may stand on the whole global warming thing, very few can argue that our reefs are facing some very serious threats.

I worry that we are in mortal danger of loosing varietys in the wild all together. Documenting these varietys as well as trying our best to trace their morphs in captivity is of critical value. Not to mention captive care.

There is funding out there especially when tied to educational links at the college or at my level.

I know there are a number of folks here qualified and willing to help on a project such as this. There just needs to be a core person or very small group to take the challenge by the horns.

Your pal thinking out loud,

I think I mean both, from what I understand about zoanthids; with out doing gene comparisons its really difficult to tell a seperate species from a morph. Right??
