Colder water is actually better for the membrane, you will get lower final TDS than with warm water. True, it will be slower but cold water treats better due to being more dense.

Cold water temps can be overcome or offset with higher pressures which again are better on a membrane than lower pressures. The membranes are rated up to about 250 psi, its the housings and fittings that are the weak points. Increase your pressure and your rejection or removal efficiency improves dramatically.
