Is Kappaphycus alvarezii macroalgae reefsafe ?

This algae is absent from the hobby here in the states, so there isn't much information on its captive care.
This German store says it's "a nice alternative to gorgonians!" and it looks like they copied information about its care and requirements from their other macroalgae products so there isn't much new there:

This journal talks about using Kappaphycus alvarezii for nutrient export, though I can't say I understand all of the scientific terms they're using:

Given how it’s being sold as a decorative algae, it’s probably safe for your tank, though this also probably means utilitarian algae, like Chaetomorpha, Ulva, Caulerpa, and Gracilaria, would be superior at nutrient export.
