Sorry for the weird title, I'm not sure how to word it properly. My question is whether the measured KH value will increase in a linear fashion as you add chemicals.
For example, if 5 g of KH powder (Red Sea Reef foundation KH) raises alkalinity .2 KH when you're at 8.0, will it also raise it .2 KH if you are at 8.5? Likewise, if you add 5g of KH at 8.0 and it raises .2, will it raise .4 if you add 10g? These numbers are all for example only.
I've seen other chemical systems in my life where the concentration of the chemical would follow a curve due to buffering of other chemicals. I'm not sure if KH is like that.
