Is my acan dead?

I just received this coral yesterday. I noticed it looked weird. It’s skeleton, like the spikes are showing, not much meat too it. Is it gone or can I save it. Cal 440, alk 10, mg 1500, sg, 1.025, nitrates <10

looks dead. lots of flesh is gone. Sometimes they come back if the mouth is intact but it doesn't look good

I would agree that the outlook is not promising but odd that it happened in a day since you got it yesterday. Do you have a photo of what it looked like when you received it?

It looked very similar, spikes exposed but not too this extent. How long should I be hopeful b4 tossing?

Once the tissue recedes like that I remove it. You can try loogle’s solution to see if you can nurse it back but In my opinion I don’t think it will improve. Perhaps someone else has an alternate opinion but I would mention if your were sold it looking like that I would be seeking a refund from the seller or a replacement. That was not a healthy acan. Good luck, that is frustrating to deal with.

I agree, unfortunately I didn’t notify the seller within 2 hours of it arriving so I’m sol. No worries I got a pack of 9 and they are doing great. Thanks for your help reef fam!!
