Is my alk bad?

Are you sure of the accuracy of the alkalinity test?

Tropic Marin pro typically mixes at that alk, calcium and magnesium…if you like it there than no problem..I use tmp for many yrs and that is what it is with a new batch mix…I raise my alk to meet my tank parameters when I mix a new batch..

That is typically what a new batch comes out for tropic Marin pro…even states on box or bucket those parameters,so it’s not the test failure

So if you have fish only its not important. If you have any hard corals or LPS they will consume alk. More water changes or some way to replace what is used up will need to be done. At a stable 7.5 your tank will be fine.

Alk over 12dkh will cause health problems for the fish as it messes with there skin. Easier to contract Diseases.
