Hey,

Got a shipment in today with a green bubble tip anemone. Drip acclimated than added to my qt. After inspecting it over in my qt, it's not looking to great. Mesenterial filaments are coming from the mouth. Also doesn't seem like it's foots has grabbed hold it's kind of just nestled in that rock. I already let the seller know, but any chance it will be ok. I'm thinking it was caused by a temp drop. I had a orange spotted shrimpgoby in the same shipment that didn't make it. Unfortunately NY was cold today and the fish were packed with a cooling pad from Florida. Only one day travel.

Thoughts?

Probably too early to tell, I purchased my first anemone last week and when I was acclimating it, he had his mouth gaping then expelled mysis from his gut. Once he got in the display tank he did all sorts of weird behaviors and I was sure he was going to die and after several hours his mouth tightened up and he found himself a nice hole to bury his foot in. I had a hard time trying to find an article or thread talking about "what to expect" when you first add an anemone. If your water parameters are normal, I would give it some time to see if it will work itself out. I'll attach some photos of mine when I first put him in.

looks sick and stressed, not DOA though, with some care it may pull through.

I'm obviously not an expert and maybe some of the experts can give some better insight but if I have learned anything in this hobby it is to have patience and that sometimes things are better off left alone. Here is a picture of him today, been in my display for 5 days and he is still looking for his perfect location. Supposedly the bubble tips love to move around.

It is exposing/ mouth open trying to exchange water it was probly very stressed due to shipping, it is in rough shape but can recover with stability , nitrates present in water

No the mouth has not open at all as far as I've been watching. I lightly went to dust out of with a pipette, but stopped when I saw the mouth open because of it. Didn't want to bother it.
