Hey everyone so I made the mistake of adding an anemone into a newly cycled tank not knowing they needed an established tank to survive it had been doing pretty good but lately it isn't looking too well what do you think other than my nitrates being a little high (around 30 I'd say) my parameters are fine I'll add a picture what do you think is there anything I can do for it

I'd do a water change and say a prayer. Have you seen any of the internals coming out of the mouth?

No I haven't seen anything coming from its mouth like an hour ago part of it was sticking out of the other side of the rock and that side looked great you can see it in this picture

I don't think it split although that'd be pretty cool I had been using a turkey baster and marine cuisine to feed it but I finally got some feeding tongs and shrimp today and tried that but i don't think it took it

What kind of light are you using? And 30ppm for nitrates isn't super toxic from what I've seen.

sometimes they take food and reject it if it's to much. also shrink up a day or two after feeding. Might just be that it was added to soon. Just make sure to remove if it starts falling apart.

Alright I'm keeping an eye on it hopefully it pulls through I really like the little thing as does my clownfish

I picked up a 12w full spectrum led off Amazon it's just an off brand and I'm mixing up water as I type this for a water change

On the Xenia?

See the shadow? To the right of the anemones disc? I see tentacles inflated, and directly under the light I see contraction. Try moving the rock a little to the left of directly under the lamp.

I moved the rocks around a little bit while I was changing the water so I'll see how it's doing tomorrow when I turn on the lights

Alright I need some advice it's definitely not getting any better half of it looks like it's dying the other half is somewhat alright what should I do

Well it's a good thing I moved it out of the tank yesterday I just got home from work and it had died sad to lose it but I'm glad it didn't go in my tank
