It looks like half the polyps are not extending. I got him a week ago and he hid in a cave. I removed the rock to get him light and this is what he looks like.

This is how he looked when I bought him.

Is he splitting?

0 ammonia, dkh 8.4, temp 78F, salinity 35.3ppm, nitrite 0, nitrate 5-10

Give it time. Don’t feed it, and don’t move it...... it can move if it wants

Can’t tell splitting from picture, but doubt it

It is a sexy one though. Rainbow?

Nems aren't coral, you can't put them where you think they look best and expect them to stay where you put them. Their environment dictates where they move. For example, if they are in an area with too much flow, they may move out of the flow a bit. If there is too much light, they may move into the rocks a bit. It is hard to say, but understand that they should be left alone to move about the tank and find their happy place. You only have him a week, so he's still acclimating.

Thanks I'm aware they are not coral. Also I did not move him, I simply removed a rock above him that was blocking lights
