Ok so I picked up a BTA about 3 days ago. I turned off flow, put it in tank. It attached to the rock I set it near right away. Moved around a little and stopped. So I slowly power heads on one by one over about an hour. It then sucked down into a cravis. Worked its way around rock and found a place it like. It stayed there for about 24 hours. But now in the last 36 hours or so. It has been under a ledge. It still has good color and dose not looks sick. Just want to know if this is normal and what should I look for? At what point should I pull it from tank? I have read threads similer to mine. But people never seem to say what happened

Tank is 125
Kessil a360w
Salinity 1.025
Tamp 78.5
Ph 8
Kh 7.5
Nitrate <5
Po4 undetectable with Hannah or api
Mag 1350
Cal500

Here are some pics. The one where it is in rock is a few hours before he decided to go under it

They'll move around until they find a spot they like.let him do his thing and cover any power heads in case he decides to let go and float around.☺

Looks good to me but your powerhead doesn't appear to be nem proofed. You can find out from the powerhead manufacturer if it has some specific gears to nem proof the powerhead. If not I'm sure there are plenty of DIY methods on the Internet.

Yea that's a old korila I am going to pull out and replace had some algae building up sand so add some flow behind rocks

So my bta was doing ok. Still hiding under rock but what put out some of him self into the light. About half. I did a water change yesterday. And now he is completely closed over his tenticals. Should I be worried. I am about to test water.

All water peramiters came back fine as normal. Only change since numbers from above is KH kh is. 8 to 8.5

I've noticed when first added to a tank they might go hide under a rock for a little bit and then within a week they'll start peeking out to get light

Ok thanks. It is still hiding. My led lights are at 65% from adding new coral. Should I lower it for NEM ?

Light aclimation for sure. Took 2 weeks for mine to aclimate to the halides

I wouldnt. the nem should adjust on its own just watch for corals if it starts moving and cover powerheads as mentioned.

Yea I pulled old korila out. I have it on rock island with no coral. So I will watch if it detaches. Just afraid it will nuke tank.
