I’ve had my BTA for about 4 months and it’s been happy up until a week ago. Since then, it’s been moving around the tank all day and never really inflating itself.
Does it look like he’s splitting?

No. They split from the foot

Yeah-definitely not splitting. Has its mouth ever been gaping? (the mouth in the picture is not too bad). See how this progresses, hopefully it gets better, but this could be the beginning of a bacterial infection. Don't worry - its treatable.

On the other hand, anemones will also move around when there are unsuitable water conditions. maybe try doing a water change. I doubt it is a bacterial infection (it was doing good for 4 months, right?).

Think i got a little too excited thinking it was splitting. He’s found a new happy place and hasn’t moved for 5 days. I don’t know what is considered gaping so i took another picture. I shined a light in the tank because the lights haven’t turned on yet

That's good. he looks pretty nice and healthy. mouth looks pretty good. Hopefully he stays put for a while. Its really annoying when you wake up and don't know where they're going to be. I have one right now who just moved across the tank lol.

It would be nice if they could just be model citizens of the tank. Mine started moving shortly after he killed my royal gramma. Maybe he has a taste for blood lol
