I had posted in this group a while ago with no responses, I don’t know too much about BTA unfortunately but my friend had me take it..... anyways- is it supposed to look like this? Last two pictures are what he normally looks like

What size tank? How long has it been up & running? And what are your parameters - SG, Alk, Cal, Mg, Phos??

From your pics it doesn't look happy

I have a 50 gallon tank, it’s been up for almost a year, I don’t have any specialized chemicals to do those kinda tests- I can just test ammonia, Ph, nitrates and nitrites...... I just got an LED grow light.... I will admit I don’t know too much about it.... this is the first time it’s look like this

Do you know the name or model of the light? Pics of it?

Probably not sufficient light. Is it like this before/after the lights, or does it look better when the lights have been on a bit?

I would have your water tested at local fish store. With your grow light it might have shocked it with the change in brightness, you should slowly acclimate nems to lighting changes.

Hi all! I will definitely go get my water checked out today! I’ll post pictures of my lights and what I have them set to...... and he’s officially closed all the way now....

Unfamiliar with those lights but looking at him id say lower the intensity and slowly ramp back up over the next couple weeks and maybe place him slightly under a ledge so he can come out to get the light he wants..

Also nobody mentioned this, but they do that at night and close up. So it depends if you just saw this with the lights off and turned on your lights to take the picture? If the lights have been on then I would suggest testing your water and turning down your lights a bit.
