Is my Butterfly fish ok?

Today he seems to be hanging out at the top and corner of the tank, he did eat a couple of black worms, I’ll attach a video, I think he breathing heavy but I’m not sure

He does appear to be breathing rapidly and with his mouth open. Have you checked for/treated for flukes? Can we get some background on this fish including any treatments that have been done?

ok, I went into the lfs last Friday and seen him for $21, I thought cool I’ll buy him and throw in the quarantine tank in my basement. While when I got home I checked the quarantine tank and the salinity was way low and there was ammonia present. So I put him in the display tank as is

hard to tell. It could be ich or lumpho. You'll have to watch him carefully and see if it drops off before 5 days. If it stays in the same spot for longer than that or even gets bigger, then it's most likely lympho.

Unless he's being chased around or otherwise exerting himself, that rapid breathing is likely being caused by worms or parasites inside the gills.

If flukes show up, put him back in the DT and treat with Prazipro in there.

If no flukes, put him in a QT for further observation.
