I added 2 weeks + ago for aiptasia, fortunately it ate all the aiptasias. Now i tried clams, masstick, mysis, etc. Also tried all possible diy ways, but then it doesnt touch and if i leave in water, It doesnt eat, tries, but other fishes are agressive eaters. It keeps nipping the rocks, but im confused its fat or slim. It had lympho, but now its gone. Plz help.

Try live black worms, I have one similar size. Sometimes he will go after mysis not most of the time he only eats the black worms

+1 CBBs can be very finicky eaters sometimes. It’s not unheard of for them to just starve themselves to death. IME; offering live blackworms is the best way to get one eating.

Not available here in india, so got aus freeze dried black worm, still cant see it eating.. :(

PaulB is a huge proponent of white worms. Much easier to culture. I just started culturing my own and my fish love them. Looking forward to trying them on a CBB.
Here's a good source. The price, quantity and quality are good: https://madriverseeds.ecrater.com/c/1780299/other-items
Here's Paul's link discussing white worms: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/give-your-white-worms-a-bath.350754/#post-4365170
We only get live tubiflex and blood worms here in india.. :(

I have shifted her to my other tank, where its the only fish, with a coral banded shrimoband a few snails. I gave her mysis, but it wud spit back out, so added a tom continuous hatch n feeder, hoping that it eats live brine without any competition. Also will try clam today. Plz give more suggestions.

It did eat the clam.. however why i never see the bulge taht we see in other fishes when they eat alot..?

CBBs usually stay looking slim, no matter how much they eat. Lighting fast metabolism ;)
So is half a cube of freeze dried black worms or 1 clam daily enough? As it finishes it very quickly. Iv shifted it to my 15g macro tank as the only fish, as it was starving in my 130g as it cudnt compete. looks much better now.

I like to feed butterflies small meals, 3-4x daily. Or even 2x daily is better than just one large meal.
They kinda remind me of hummingbirds, lots of energy, calorie burners, that need frequent food, and so beautiful.

Yup, most fish pick all day in the wild. Butterflies are constantly looking for small anemones and other meaty things to eat. So while feeding only 1x daily might be good for your corals & nitrates, its not what's best for the fish.

What do u recommend then? Howmuch do I feed it? And howmany times? Here is the video i made of its diy feeder..

Very nice. I've seen that white screen material at the sewing supply store where my wife shops. It's called "Plastic Canvas" weird name. I'm going to make one of these today. Thanks. Best of luck with the Butterfly. I just love them. Haven't been able to keep one that will eat. This will help a lot. Thanks again. You the man!

Good to see that you found a way to get your CBB to eat. Always loved them but never had one because was always shy away because of difficulty in feeding.

Love that he goes right for it too :-)
