Just setup my first tank and added my first fish (Maroon clown) last Saturday. I noticed the other day that he was swimming somewhat weird and wouldn’t notice food fall on his left side so I looked closer an it appears he’s missing an eye. I looked it up to see if it was a disease or something but it doesn’t appear to be cloudy eye or “popeye.” His eye looks to be sunken in or missing altogether. While he’s perfectly healthy otherwise, my fear is that he’ll compete for food when the tank gets more fish. Should I take him back to my LFS to swap him out? Any thoughts?

Left side is his good eye and right side is bad

Not an expert, but this kinda does look like the lemonpeel my lfs had that was missing an eye.

That being said, one eyed fish can live perfectly fine and relatively normal lives. That being said, if he came that way from the store, I would definitely ask your lfs about returns and/or partial refunds or what have you.
