I noticed what looked like loose flesh peeling away at the bottom of my Rainbow Aussie Lord. I purchased this about a month ago from wwc.

I have it sitting in low flow and about 6 inches from bottom of my tank.

Tank is 3.5 months old
40g breeder with 29g sump
Black box light 10 inch above tank ran at 60% blue 15% white
Calcium=300
Alk = 8
Salinity= 1.025

I moved it further from light thinking maybe its getting to much?

Thanks
Cory

Thanks for the quick reply, this community is so helpful!

The first one is the wysiwyg from WWC before i put in my tank. I wanted to show what it looked like before my problem.

All i have are clownfish and some cleaning crew. Not sure if they would eat it.

I guess stinging could be happening i thought it was far enough away from my platygrya.

Platygyra can put out sweepers. Some shrimp can become rouge with coral and sometimes they can steal food from the coral causing damage.
I had no idea sweepers could reach that far from a small frag. Im moving it further away and see if it helps.

I dont have any shrimp only snails and crab so im betting you're correct about getting stung.

Here is a pic from original position before move. Its a good 5 inch away

Here is my attempt at spacing them properly.

I'm using a 40-gallon breeder while I learn more about the hobby.

My plan is in 4 months move all of these frags into a much larger tank I have.

I think i have an algae issue going on. One of my rocks is coated in green and its spreading to others.

Any steps i should be taking?

I was thinking increase my cleaning crew?
