Hello…. I noticed today this discoloration on one side of this coral colony… is this normal?? Could the coral be sick or dying?

How long have you had them? They can darken if they are in lower par. Were they next to anything that could have stung them?

Had them for 6 months… came in a small 2 polyp frag and grew to this in 6 months… nothing around to sting them…

Not that i know of… latest adition to the tank was an arrow crab… (Stenorhynchus seticornis) might he be the issue?

The polyps on the right are closed up some and therefore look darker. Could have been a crab or snail walking by and caused it. You can also tell that the water current or flow is blowing harder against that edge and that may be why they are more closed up. Overall they all seem to be doing really well.

I didnt consider a snal… i will check today to see if they go back to “normal” as compared to the others…

Good news! Turns out it was just a snail or something cause didnt do anything and its been in great condition for the past couple of days. Who knows! ‍♂️
