Hey I am currently cycling a biocube 32. My current tank is a 55 gallon(2years) with 2 clown fish, a wrasse, and corals including an anemone. I am planning to transfer everything from that tank to this cube once the cycle is complete. I went with dosing ammonia route for the first time and i started my tank with 10lbs of reef saver dry rock and 10lbs of live sand. I also put some new pond matrix in a filter bag. When i started my tank I dumped a bottle of bio spira and began dosing dr time ammonia chloride. It has been almost 3 weeks now. I follow the instructions and dose to 2ppm ammonia and nitrite. I read that to ensure the cycle is complete 2ppm of ammonia and nitrite should zero in 24hours. Such as this week, when i dose 2ppm of ammonia/nitrite it takes around 36-48hours for both of them to fall to 0. And i tested nitrate as well today which is 20ppm. I’m wondering if my cycle is complete for me to add one of my clownfish. Or should I keep dosing to 2ppm ammonia/nitrite? It seems that the ammonia falls to 0 in about 1 day but the nitrite takes another day to fall to 0 making it 48hours. Other than that temp and salinity is stable.
