Been cycling about 6 weeks now. Red Sea Reefer 170. 40 lbs of Dry Rock and live sand. I started with adding a shrimp when I started.

My water levels started as follows:
Ph 8.2
Nitrate 2.0
Nitrite 0
Kh 3.4
Ammonia .04
Only real change during this cycle was that my nitrates went up to 10. Ph and Nitrite never changed. Kh moved upward .5
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today my readings are as follows.
ph 8.2
Nitrate 5
Nitrite 0
Kh 2.9
Ammonia 0

I've been ghost feeding once a day for the last week. Skimmer is off.
I just want to make sure its cycling the way it should. Should I continue as is or add something else?
Am I ready for a cleanup crew?
Thanks,
Mike

Thank You f0r the replies. Now on to researching a clean up crew.

Question............. is there enough food in the tank for your CUC?

if you add 4ml ammonia to the tank and test 20 min after for the spike, test how long it will take to go down to a safe level.

Personally "i" would wait on adding the clean up crew until there's actually enough for them to clean. I started my tank with the exact same stuff as you. Only with having used the live sand after a week or two I added a couple inexpensive Damsels to help with the cycling process along with the live rock and other stuff. After 6 weeks with live rock and having used live sand I'm sure your good to go.
