Hey everyone,
I cant tell if something is going really wrong with my fish. Now i know it might seem crazy but the fish is really new and i cant remember if he was already like this or something is wrong. But he is a blue damsel if someone can please explain what is wrong with him i would appreciate it. It looks like he lost scales all around his eye and face. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Sincerely,
-CorporalFin

LFS.... I should probably go talk to them they are a sponsor to the site

Since it's not shipping damage to the fish, I'm leaning bacterial infection. If it were my fish, I'd treat it with a bath in Ruby Reef Rally and then a complete treatment with Nitrofuracine Green Powder (NFG) or the trifecta of Kanaplex, Metroplex and Furan2.

i know some of the other fish can be really aggressive that are in my tank could that be it as well?

Could be. either way I would lean towards an infection as well. Start with the antibiotics and see how it goes.

is there a antibiotic for someone on a budget or is this something i should pay no matter the price and either way what would you guys suggest i am really new to all this

There aren't really generic brands for fish medications. The important thing is the active ingredient in each is the same. However, you must be careful because some will have the active ingredient but also add in others that may not play well with the other two meds in this trio. My advice is to purchase the ones mentioned and have them on hand for future problems as well.

A broad spectrum antibiotic like Kanaplex or Furan2, would be the bare minimum to have on hand.

Ruby Reef Rally is a great product that has both an antibiotic and antiseptic quality to give a fish a helpful 60-90 minute bath that can really help.

Nitrofuracine Green powder is a product that lots of LFS, wholesalers and shippers use. It works great on a variety of sores and infections.

Metroplex is an antibiotic that really works well on those nasty "internal" infections usually caused by internal parasites (worms).

So if this was your fish which would you give it because at this point i am going to trust you and buy accordingly

I'd give it the Ruby Reef Rally bath and then treat with either Nitrofuracine Green or the what we call the Trifecta: Kanaplex, Metroplex, Furan2.
