Is my gbta alright?

Yup, im jus feeding it once a week with frozen mysis. It did colourup a bit, so i guess its recovering.. im guessing that it shud recover quicker, like within a month. Will add 2 more types of btas.. Let's see. .

I bought a GBTA back in Oct not realizing my lighting was totally inadequate. It has turned completely white. Two months ago I put t5s on the tank. The corals all perked up , but the anemone still looks the same. Now my clownfish is hosting it , and steals any food I try to give it! I'm about to add a lot more lighting, but am unsure if it will make a difference at this point. How much time does it need to recover? It is defiantly still alive. I ordered another BTA (since my lighting will be much improved from my first one) to hopefully get the clown to host the healthy one and allow the sick one to recover.

Are you sure about the "keep feeding it"?

I've heard that if you feed bta a lot, it can actually cause them to loose color because it isn't using the photosynthetic cells in its tentacles to produce food from light. And supposedly these photosynthetic cells are what give the bta it's color.

(Just repeating what I've heard.)

My BTAs rarely get fed food other than what they get from the water column and the strong light they like to bask in.
I feed mine every time i feed my tank which is every couple days.

I have not had a problem with it losing its color.

I feed mine mysis with selcon 2x a week. In December it was the size of a dime now its 8 inches across

So basically feesing them once a week is fine.. althoigh i noticed that it looks more bigger when i dont feed it.. i dont know the reason though...

My theory for that is the more surface area getting the light the more it will take in. So if you dont feed it as much ita going to need to use the light as energy which in my theory is why its bigger. To accept more light to keep it healthy

Hmm. I guess so feeding once a week wud let it grow larger and healthier... once i add fishes, i guess it will get enough food.
