I just got this gorgonian for maybe a week and I noticed the tip is looking white but all of the polyps are fully extending could it be dying or receding or is the new growth?

I’ve had it for maybe 5 days haven’t fed it and it’s actually a photosynthetic gorgonian , I’ll start feeding and see if that makes a difference

Thanks brother! Do you think if I feed phyto would that be good enough?

I would do phyto, maybe a dash of Reef roids, amd some aminos. That covers most of the bases. I'm not a gorgonian expert by any means though.

Hi. If it’s photosynthetic, which it appears to be, I would just let it settle and keep the system stable and within reef tolerances. I would let it adjust and keep an eye on it. If it’s does start to recede, cut away the necrotic area with a clean cut below it into healthy tissue. U can then use a light lugol dip, pls
Use the reference guide, rinse with tank water and let settle. I would not add all the nutrients via feeding if exporting the waste is an issue.
