The white spots are the places where i am losing gsp.
Can someone please help me with why this could be happening?
Can i save this colony?

What kind of fish do you have? Looks to me like someones eating it

i have clownfish and Christmas wrasse. 5 turbo snails and 5 hermit crabs
Hum. Weird those are usually reef safe. Im not to sure then. I would post your water chemistry and readings here so people with more coral experience could tell you if there is a problem somewhere!

i have already added reef fusion solutions 1 and 2 to increase alkalinity.

Sorry to see that ...How long have you had coral in tank? I've heard hermit crabs go rogue on corals in several posts
i recently bought this whole setup from someone. he had maintained this for 3 years. i transported it and transferred it. it has been a month since I had this. i have changed 50% water so far as i only was able to get 50% of the water from the person

My best guess would a parameter swing. 50% is alot for a water change and can throw off your chemistry. How rapidly did it happen. Slowly progressing or more sudden? What is your alkalinity and calcium? Salinity?

i pasted the chemistry above. i don't know the calcium count but alkalinity was 40. Salinity was 1.021.

I'm sorry, does that say 0.25 ppm copper?

the water swing happened over a week.

Shouldn’t salinity be like 1.025?
Even GSP may succumb to unstable water chemistry.
Start by WC to 1.025, and get that to hold without change.
Use an ATO if not already.

That week is enough to do damage. Also now freshly looking. Alkalinity is 40ppm? Or 4.0 dkh? If it's 40 ppm your Alkalinity is wayyy too low.. 4dkh? Still too low. I believe that's around 2.5 dkh which Alkalinity needs to be between 7-10 dkh (125ppm- 180ppm). If your salinity is low. That explains the alk swing. Salinity should be .025-.026 sg (33-35ppt).

Also I don't know what test kits your using to measure Alkalinity.. hanna is most reliable and ensure your getting accurate results. I have no idea if 0.25 copper does anything to coral because I haven't learned that much yet but maybe @vetteguy53081 can chime in when he has some free time. His words and expertise are more solid than mines.

.25 can impact coral. You want zero but no more than .002
Adding media such as Cuprisorb will remove copper in whole. Also blow loose with turkey baster to remove any sediment which may be on them and they need medium water flow. Here is one of my GSP (lower left):

@machwave I'm not sure if this thread is coming to an end but if your next plan is to raise your salinity make sure you do it very slowly. A quick rise can kill fish and coral. Hope it all works out!
