Is my heater broken?

I was unboxing this fluval heater because my new tank is finally filled and it rolled out of the package and smacked against a coffee table. I inspected it for damage and I cannot remember if these black lines were there to begin with or not. The line is not on the glass, so I am wondering if this is still safe to use. Not the end of the world if it isn’t since this is a redundancy heater, but still sucks to waste that money if it is.
