OK, so found my hermit crab looking a little bit like this when I got home! What appears to be half his legs off from his body! He seems to still be alive in his shell, but I assume it's only a matter of time?
Is my hermit crab about to die?

Yeah, it definitely looks like a molt. This is done about once every month or so and is completely normal.

I'm not expert on crabs. and from the picture it looks like a murder scene... Like LetItReef said, keep an eye. Hopefully it's nothing.

I was starting to wonder if I could suggest this to the producers of CSI and an episode!
